Booking

Our shop is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 2pm until about 7pm. Booking an appointment can be done via phone, social media, or by coming into the shop.

In order to secure a date we will also need a deposit of $50. Some of our artists will accept Venmo but not all. Deposits are nonrefundable, if you reschedule within a week of your appointment you can defer the deposit to the rescheduled appointment. If the appointment is cancelled within a week or if the client doesn't show up, the deposit is forfeited to compensate the artist for the day of work.

When booking we ask these questions,

  • Which artist would you like to work with?

  • Color or black and grey?

  • Did you have any reference photos of art you like?

  • How large in inches will your piece be? You can also send us a photo of the area and circle a rough size. If this is a cover up or a piece that will be near an existing tattoo, we will definitely need a photo.

We are a cash only shop so please bring cash for the appointment. There is atm in the gas station across the street and a Chase bank less than a mile away. We also need a photo idea such as a license or a passport for proof of age.

Tattoo Process

At Iron Butterfly Tattoo, our artists are dedicated to providing you with a memorable tattoo experience. From consultation to design and finally getting inked, we ensure that you are informed and comfortable throughout the process.

The day of your tattoo we will need photo id proving you are 18 or older. For ear piercings you have to be 13 or older and require school id and birth certificate or passport or state id. For body jewelry you have to be at least 17. Piercings under 18 need parental permission.

For your appointment make sure you eat before and are hydrated. You may bring drinks, snacks, and a friend or two to keep you company. You are also welcome to bring books, games, a pillow or blanket. Ask your artist for what to wear for the location being tattooed.

Aftercare Tips

Taking care of your new tattoo is crucial for proper healing. Our aftercare tips will guide you through the healing process, ensuring that your tattoo looks vibrant and stays healthy.

For Tattoos: Dial Gold liquid antibacterial soap and Aquaphor

One to three hours after the appointment: Remove the bandage when you get home and clean you hands with the soap, and then use the soap and warm water to remove the A&D. Pat dry with a paper towel and add a very very thin coat of Aquaphor, just enough to absorb in the skin and not be shiny or greasy.

First four or five days: Wash morning and moisturize and evening. After the gym, a shower, or any messy situation, wash with the antibacterial soap. Bactine can be used if still feeling sore. Soon the tattoo may start to scab or peel, dont pick at it. When itchy, gently slap, don't scratch it. Wear loose clothes and avoid rough fabrics or denim. Let the tattoo breath, do not recover with plastic.

Five days to four weeks: Now you just need to apply moisturizer morning and evening only. You can increase this up to 5 times a day to manage itchy dry skin. After 4 weeks you can once again use a bath, pool, sauna, allow direct light. You can use sunscreen after the second week.

Retouches: After your tattoo is healed you get a free retouch within the first year. This is to fix any lines that healed too light, make color corrections, add white if needed.

For numbing creams: use at your own discretion and tell your artist ahead of time if you will be using them. A week before the appointment, do a test area to ensure you wont have an allergic reaction.

Navel Piercing

Piercing Aftercare

For Piercings: Dial Gold antibacterial soap, Bactine, sea salt.

  1. Wash hands with Dial before touching your new piercing. Wash piercing with Dial and warm water to gently remove any crusties that may have formed. Afterwards clean with Bactine.

  2. If you find your piercing is getting unusually irritated or swollen, dissolve sea salt in warm/hot water and soak the area for a few minutes. Clean with water and Bactine afterwards.

  3. Repeat process 2 to 3 times daily for 1 to 2 weeks. Do not use lotion, ointment or makeup near the piercing.
